Gerry O’Neill

Ireland Water Polo are saddened to hear of the passing of Cathal Brugha Club President and former Ireland Water Polo President, Gerry O’Neill.

 

Gerry was a former Chair, Secretary and Treasurer at Club and Ulster level and for years he played a strong and influential role on the National Committee as Ulster representative and as President of Ireland Water Polo. As recognition for his many years of service and commitment, Gerry received the award for outstanding contribution to Water Polo at the Annual Swim Ireland Awards in 2018.

 

We offer our condolences to his family and to all the Cathal Brugha members at this sad time.

 

Gerry’s funeral will be on Friday at 11am from St.Paul’s Chapel, Falls Road. As a mark of respect there will be a minutes silence held before each of the National League games in both Belfast and Dublin this weekend.
