Corrib win Irish U12 Mixed Cup

Corrib WPC won the Irish U12 Mixed Cup beating St Vincent’s in this evenings final. In what was a closely fought final between the two teams it was the Galway side who came out on top 4-2 to win this competition for the fourth time.
In the 3rd/4th playoff, Sandycove came out on top (6-1) against Half Moon to win the bronze medal.
Vincent Troy (Corrib) was awarded Boys MVP and Sian McCrohan (Sandycove) was awarded the girls MVP of the tournament.
A special mention to all the players who took part many of them competing in their first cup competition.
A big thank you to all of our referees, and table officials who helped out over the weekend, to Tournament Directors Mick Kelly & Orna Kiernan who made sure everything ran smoothly all weekend and to President of Ireland Water Polo Kevin Armstrong who was in attendance for the presentations of medals.
Also thank you to our pool providers the National Aquatics Centre who were very obliging and helping in making hours available for the day and providing assistance in the set up of the facilities for the competition to run smoothly.
