Wexford’s historical win at the U12 Mixed Cup!

Wexford SC win U12 Mixed Cup title

16th June 2025

Wexford SC took home the trophy of the U12 Mixed Cup for the first time ever! The team emerged victorious in a well fought final against Clonard in the U12 Mixed Cup, on Saturday the 14th of June, in the National Aquatic Centre. With both clubs finishing second in their respective groups the weekend prior, Wexford faced North Dublin in their semi-final where they came away with a well-earned 5-9 win. The other semi-final proved a much tighter game with Clonard beating Drogheda 5-2, to secure their spot in the final.

The final was an incredible affair, with Wexford claiming the title of U12 Mixed cup champions for the first time, with a brilliant 7-0 win against a strong Clonard side.

In the 3rd/4th playoff Drogheda claimed the bronze medal with an 8-5 win over North Dublin.

Girls MVP of the tournament was Emma Murnaghan (Drogheda).

Boys MVP of the tournament was Daniel Jordan (Wexford).

A big thank you to our tournament director over the two weekends, Gabor Deak, delegate Stephen O’Brien, to all our referees & table officials, national head coach Goran Sablic, who was in attendance for the presentations of medals and our Swim Ireland Water Polo Team, Aveen Colvin and Kirstie Stevenson for their preparations for the weekend.

Also thank you to the duty manager and the staff in the National Aquatic Centre who were very obliging in making hours available over the weekend and providing assistance when needed.
