Clonard win U12 Mixed Cup

Clonard won the U12 Mixed Cup for the first time, beating current holders Corrib in the final. Both teams were unbeaten going into the final, and it was Clonard who led throughout the final holding a slender one goal advantage going into the final quarter in what was a closely fought final before the Belfast club further extended their lead to win 9-7 in the end.

In the 3rd/4th playoff, Sandycove came out on top (8-2) against Half Moon to win the bronze medal.

Ben Hetherington (Clonard) was awarded Boys MVP and Sian McCrohan (Sandycove) was awarded the girls MVP of the tournament.

A special mention to all the players who took part many of them competing in their first cup competition.

A big thank you to all of our referees, table officials who helped out throughout the day to made sure the day ran smoothly and also to President of Ireland Water Polo Kevin Armstrong who was in attendance for the presentations of medals.

Also thank you to our pool providers the National Aquatics Centre who were very obliging and helping in making hours available for the day and providing assistance in the set up of the facilities for the competition to run smoothly.
