Cathal Brugha win 2020 Brother Philip Cup

Cathal Brugha last weekend won the 2020 Brother Philip Cup at UL Sport, fighting out a tight final against North Dublin.

In a change to format, the tournament ran in a cup weekend style, in a full 30x20m pitch, emulating the Irish Senior Cup layout. The competition ran for a full day on Saturday with the 5th/6th and 3rd/4th place matches as well as the final taking place on the Sunday morning. Sandycove SC came out as 5th place finishers beating Half Moon, 10-9.

St Vincents WPC finished in 3rd place beating Corrib WPC, 8-2. North Dublin and Cathal Brugha with the Ulster men coming out on top finishing 13-11. The competition and the changed format was a success and a vital part of the preparation process for the upcoming Irish Senior Cup in Bangor, 23rd – 25th April 2020.
