Team Manager – Competitions
This course is for volunteers who wish to act as Team Manager for their club at competitions, from club galas up to and including Senior National competitions.

- The skills and attributes required for a Team Manager
- The importance of being part of a team
- How good communication can support your team
Team Manager – Away Trips
This course is for volunteers who wish to act as Team Manager on an away trip, domestic or international, for one or more nights.
Course content
- The role of Swim Ireland in relation to away trips
- The requirements for international travel with a club/ team
- The responsibilities and requirements of a team manager
- The skills and attributes required for a team manager
- The importance of being part of a team
- How good communication can support your team
Role Requirements for all of the above Team Manager Courses:
To act in the role of Team Manager you must meet and maintain the following requirements:
- Age – at least 20 years old
- Vetting – Active Vetting NVB or Access NI with Swim Ireland
- Safeguarding – Active Safeguarding 1 Certificate
- Qualified – Complete this online module to act as a Team Manager at a domestic competition
- Membership – You must have a Swim Ireland club membership
Table Official
Table Officials record periods of play, timeouts, score, and all decisions made during a game. Table Officials ensure the game progresses correctly and will be required to concentrate fully throughout the game.
The course involves an online module which will cover the theory aspect of the table official role and a practical module once the online element is completed. The practical will cover how to complete match sheets correctly, how to use the tablet to record match incidents and how to use the clock. We intend to run practical sessions in regions a number of times each year, candidates will be required to make a booking for this aspect of the qualification.
By attending a table officials course candidate will acquire the necessary skills to carry out these duties.

Referee
Water polo referees are an important part of any water polo game, since they are in charge of monitoring the clocks, making calls, and controlling the game. Water polo referees communicate mainly through whistle blasts and arm signals. Water Polo referee’s also keep track of what goes on underwater and constantly monitor players actions both on and off the ball.
By completing this course you can begin your journey to becoming a qualified referee.
